It feels like I just finished re-launching The Sacrifice of One, oh wait, I did! But believe it or not, the re-launch of book #2 in The Camilla Crim series, The Bear Gap Rebels, is only a few weeks away (August 1st)!  In the week leading up to the launch of The Sacrifice of One, I did a character profile of my leading lady, Camilla. So, I thought that in these next few weeks until the next launch, I would do character profiles for some of the secondary characters in my books.

So today, I wanted to tell you all about Tuor Crim…

Firstly, Tuor is Camilla’s OLDER brother although you’d be tempted to think he’s her younger brother by the way he acts. Tuor suffers from serious anxiety and paranoia. In fact, when he was only 16-years- old he fled his father’s home to join The Warwick Militia. Joining the army might seem like an odd decision for someone as anxious as Tuor to make, but he actually thrived under the structure.

While shipped off to the capital city of LilyAye, Tuor met Lawrence who would become his best friend. That combination of best friend and comforting structure of the militia put Tuor in a good place mentally, even though he was miles away from Camilla. But all of that would come crashing down when Tuor was suddenly accused of murder. This sent him into a tail spin.

He didn’t know what to do except to return to the only place where he had family. So, Tuor and Lawrence fled LilyAye for Bear Gap to reunite with Camilla. This is where The Sacrifice of One begins. Throughout this book we see Tuor as basically helpless and fully dependent on Camilla to save him. But as we roll into The Bear Gap Rebels we’re going to see Tuor begin to defeat some of his mental demons.

Tuor is more than just his mental illness. He’s faithful, kind, and adoringly sweet. There’s an innocence about Tuor that makes it hard to stay mad at him, and although he’s skittish and scatterbrained, when it comes to defending the ones he loves, he steps up. Tuor enjoys the simples things in life, like a good bowl of hearty stew. I think we can all learn a lesson from him.

Until next time…
