As I’ve mentioned a time or two, a few months ago I started my first ever book launch team, or Street Team, as I call them. This is a small group of fans that read advanced copies of my books and help by leaving reviews, pointing out typos, and producing general buzz about me and my books. My Street Team has been so helpful and frankly a lot of fun.

Back in June, before I re-launched The Sacrifice of One, I hosted a contest in my private Street Team Facebook group. I asked the group for unique ideas on how I could market the re-launch beforehand. I told them I’d pick my favorite and not only would they be a winner, but I’d do whatever the thing was they suggested.

Well, the winning answer was by a writer friend of mine, Kate. She suggested I do a cosplay of Camilla. If you don’t know what cosplay is, it’s basically just dressing up as a fictional character. I loved this idea because it was different and I knew it would be out of my comfort zone. I had full intentions on doing this cosplay before the re-launch of The Sacrifice of One, but I had a few unexpected things come up and I ended up not having the time. So, I determined to do it before the re-launch of The Bear Gap Rebels, which is this Saturday by the way!

So, for your viewing pleasure, check out the gallery of pictures taken below of me dressed up as Camilla. I only used what I had around my house. Unfortunately, I could not find my play dagger and sword which were a pretty major part of the cosplay plan, but I settled for a hatchet and a knife.

I decided to go with Camilla’s look once she’s decided to take action. At the opening of The Sacrifice of One, she’s just wearing a plain dress, but pretty soon into the book, she opts for some pants and a top. The boots were an easy pick, because Camilla is always wearing boots. And of course, I made sure to have the Warwick W brand on the inside of my arm!

This was truly a stretching experience for me. I don’t love being in front of the camera. I like being the person behind the camera. (Because I like being in control…) And I’m not one for dress-up. But I loved this idea so much and I thought it was so cute that I had to do it!

Comment below and let me know what you think. I will be having a launch party for The Bear Gap Rebels this Saturday, August 1st! Be sure to tune in on FACEBOOK at 3pm eastern time. I’ll be hosting a giveaway for a signed paperback copy of The Bear Gap Rebels. Also, if all this talk of my Street Team intrigued you, and you’re interested in joining, you can apply to be on my Street Team HERE.

Enjoy!
